Pajak Joins M-K’s Columbia Office

Milt Pajak recently joined the Morgan-Keller Construction team as its Business Development Manager for the greater Baltimore area. He has an extensive resume in the construction industry, including experience in both project estimating and preconstruction services.

Mr. Pajak will be headquartered in Morgan-Keller’s Columbia, MD office, and will work directly with Tom Sloan, manager Columbia, MD operations, and Raveesh Lnu, estimator. “Having Milt join our team is a real plus for M-K,” notes Sloan. “Milt’s excellent reputation and knowledge of the construction industry will help us to better serve our clients.”

Now in its 53rd year of operation, M-K’s resume of recently completed projects includes office buildings, retail centers, hotels, healthcare/biomedical and the expansion of several senior living facilities.


Morgan-Keller Honored at 2008 ABC Awards

Frederick, MD - Morgan-Keller, Inc. recently received four Excellence in Construction awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors, Cumberland Valley Chapter. “These awards are a tribute to Morgan-Keller’s dedication to constructing buildings that are both structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing,” said Brad Guyton, President and CEO of Morgan-Keller. “The awards are a testament to our team members’ hard work and commitment to excellence.”

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Headquarters, Frederick, Maryland
Received First Prize for Excellence in Construction – Commercial $25 - $100 Million

The Wells Fargo project is a three-story, 310,000 square foot Class-A office building that serves as the new headquarters for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. The eye-catching design features three inter-connected structures connected by “knuckles” or atria that allow the building to curve gently on its site. Extensive use of glass on the main façade and a dramatic two-story main lobby add to the building’s appeal. The facility houses 1,600 workers and includes numerous state-of-the-art amenities, including conference rooms, media rooms, a full-service cafeteria and locker rooms. The Tilt-Up Concrete Association recently recognized the project for its innovative design.

Guardian Hose Company, Thurmont, Maryland
Received First Prize for Excellence in Construction – Pre-Engineered Building

Guardian Hose’s new 14,700 sq. ft. facility is a pre-engineered metal building, with an attractive blend of split-face masonry block and metal cladding. The rear corner of the building features a two-story stair tower capped with a standing seam metal roof. The project included an expansive engine bay with adjoining offices, community room, kitchen and sleeping quarters.

Len Stoler Ford, Owings Mills, Maryland
Received Award of Merit for Excellence in Construction – Commercial Under $2 Million

Len Stoler Ford’s expansion and upgrade encompassed 4,200 sq. ft. of space and consisted of a two-story addition housing a suite of executive offices, state-of-the-art conference room and administrative offices. All offices feature extensive custom built-in casework complimented by a variety of high-end finishes. The conference room on the second floor features glass walls and state-of-the-art audio-visual systems.

Harvest Bank, Frederick, Maryland
Received Award of Merit for Excellence in Construction – Historical Renovation Under $2 Million.

The Harvest Bank project involved the interior renovation of a 9,000 sq. ft., 150 year old, three-story building in downtown Frederick, Maryland’s historic district. The completed project includes a first floor branch bank, second floor corporate offices, while the third floor is reserved for future office space. While the building’s façade reflects and respects the historic nature of the city, its new amenities very successfully meet the needs of today’s occupants. An excellent blend of the best of the old and the new.

Received First Prize for Excellence in Construction – Infrastructure/Heavy Over $1 Million

This project included three distinctive bridges, a public ampitheater, extensive landscaping including raised planters with elaborate brick detailing, numerous water features, and an attractive blend of patterned brick walkways stretching nearly two miles along the promenade. Carroll Creek Park was also recently awarded First Prize in the Outstanding Concrete Craftsmanship Award category by the American Concrete Institute, as well as Outstanding Planning Project by the American Planning Association, Maryland Chapter.

Fairhaven Retirement Community, Sykesville, Maryland

Received First Prize for Excellence in Construction – Healthcare Over $1 Million
In addition to the rehabilitation of several existing buildings, including a 1,200 sq. ft. Chaplain’s office adjacent to the facility’s chapel, Fairhaven Retirement Community now boasts three new independent living apartment buildings, a 100-space underground parking garage, and a large arts studio, service kitchen, and conference rooms.

Frederick Brick Works, Frederick, Maryland
Received Award of Merit for Excellence in Construction – Pre-Engineered Buildings Over $1 Million

Frederick Brick Works’ new 45,300 sq. ft. warehouse is a pre-engineered metal building with a highly-detailed masonry veneer and an eye-catching standing seam roof. In addition to the warehouse area, the project included a showroom, office space, and a unique outdoor showroom featuring a variety of masonry landscaping products.

Morgan-Keller Awarded for Commitment to Safety

Frederick, MD - Morgan-Keller, Inc. has received the STEP Platinum Award (Safety Training and Evaluation Program), the highest safety award granted by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. The award was presented in recognition of the company’s outstanding safety record and its ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program for 2007.
