Morgan-Keller Honored at 2009 ABC Awards

Frederick, MD - Morgan-Keller, Inc. recently received six Excellence in Construction awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors, Cumberland Valley Chapter. “Receiving these awards from our peers is a tribute to Morgan-Keller’s dedication to constructing buildings and structures that are both structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing,” said Brad Guyton, President and CEO of Morgan-Keller, Inc. “The awards are a testament to the team members’ hard work and commitment to excellence.”

Morgan-Keller Awarded Methodist Church Project

Frederick, MD - Morgan-Keller is set to start construction of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in October. The project is an 11,500 sf three-story addition to the already existing church. The new space will include administrative offices, a conference room, children’s classrooms, restrooms and storage.

The contract was awarded to Morgan-Keller in September 2009. The church addition will take approximately eight months to build. Project Manager, Steve Leatherman states, “We are excited to start construction of this project and look forward to building the addition that the church needs in order to expand.”

Now in its 54th year of operation, M-K’s resume of recently completed projects includes office buildings, retail centers, hotels, healthcare/biomedical and the expansion of several senior living facilities.

Morgan-Keller to Start Beltsville-Laurel Senior Center

Frederick, MD - Morgan-Keller is set to start construction of the Beltsville-Laurel Senior Center in mid August. The new project will be a one-story, 23,000 square foot senior center located in Laurel, Maryland.

The contract was awarded to Morgan-Keller in July 2009. The senior center will take approximately 15 months to build. “We are very excited to start this project,” Bill Hasson, Business Development Manager for Morgan-Keller stated. “Senior centers are a specialty of Morgan-Keller and reflect our on-going activities in the senior housing sector.”

Morgan-Keller Completes Parkton Fire Station

Frederick, MD - Morgan-Keller, Inc., completed work at the Parkton Fire Station #60 in Baltimore, Maryland. This is the fourth fire station for Morgan-Keller, Inc.

Work began in March 2008 and was completed February 25, 2009. The scope of work included remediation of unsuitable soil for a 10,755 square foot new construction fire station to include three engine bays, six office/dorm rooms, a full functioning kitchen and three bathrooms. Doug Gray, project manager for M-K, states, “There was a definite need for this state-of-the-art facility in Parkton, MD. The area is growing and a permanent facility was needed. We had a good experience with Baltimore County and hope to work with them again in future projects.”

Studio 6 Health Club Ribbon Cutting

Studio 6 Health Club of Hagerstown, MD working in conjunction with MK Specialty Contracts Group (MKSCG), a division of Morgan-Keller, Inc. had their official ribbon cutting ceremony on April 17, 2009.

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 12814 Shank Farm Lane, located in Stone House Square, the new location for Studio 6 Health Club, the only upscale health club located in Washington County. The ceremony had an excellent turn out including Mayor Bruchey and County Commissioner John Barr.

MKSCG completed the project on January 18, 2009. It took one month to complete the interior renovation of the 3,440 square foot facility. Darrell Guyton, Vice President of MKSCG states, “With the dedication and commitment of all MKSCG’s team members and subcontractors, we managed to successfully complete this state-of-the-art facility in a timely and efficient manner.”
